Dorothy's Cardiff 1953 -establishment is a legendary place to relish some chicken curry and chips
And what if you have late night cravings
Or been partying all night and want to relish something good
Yes Dorothy's at Cardiff bay is the right place you should head to - they are open from 1 pm to morning 4 am
And trust me was surprised to see the rush at that odd hour 3 am in the morning we had to stand in que
And finally ordered their signature dish chicken curry with chips
It's sheer pleasure and finger licking good
The chicken curry has mild spices and is super hot then comes the chicken pieces they just fall off the bone and cooked to perfection
The chips are crisp and fresh
Apt combo it is!
They have some delectable fish chips and just chicken curry too
Late night cravings sorted
Tip off the portions are huge and worth
So try one first and head for some fish n chips or hotdogs
Each portion cost 5.5 pounds

Dorothy won , as there was no line...we had a late lunch.
The fish was good..but not flooring..disspointing...frankly our New England USA, local fish and chips imo..are better...
The very friendly service was a huge plus... -

Ever since I've moved to Cardiff, I've heard about how when it comes to fish and chips in the capital city, Dorothy's is queen. I'm a huge fan of fish and chips and recently, I finally got to try this place out!
Let me just say... the hype is REAL!
~ Atmosphere:
Dorothy's atmosphere is not much to write home about. It's a dingy, tiny little takeaway with only a small handful of seats available that can't sit anymore than 3-4 people (even then 4 people is pushing it) - therefore, I wouldn't come here expecting to eat in.
~ Customer Service:
The customer service here is pretty quick - it is a takeaway after all. However, I left my umbrella here the other day, went back the next day, and they had it ready for me :) Lovely people in general. I've also seen them speak to a lot of their regulars and were very friendly to them.
~ Food:
The highlight and why this place is deserving of 5 stars - beyond everything else, their CHIPS are FANTASTIC! Cooked to perfection and I've never had takeaway chips so full of flavour. They're always piping hot as well. I've had their fish too and it was also very delicious. Their portion sizes are huge for how much you pay too!

Hmmmmm, thus is one of THE chippy' of Cardiff's "famous" Chip Alley. You have to visit more than one place to work out if you are a Tony's or a Dorothy's fan ...

Chose it ahead of its local rival purely because the place looked cleaner!
